Fishing's Strangest Tales
Just got this as a present along with Castings Shadows by Tom Fort; I have not started that book yet but I have started the strangest tales one. The first 4 chapters, ghoulish bait 1800, Shoemakers record 1810, rat run 1816 and bird of prey 1821. Good fun and plenty of chapters to go right up to otters breakfast 2013. So, plenty of history, I will report on the other one when I get round to it but, I have quite a back log to get through. The Castings Shadows book says a Times and Sunday Times book of the year at the top so, expecting good things, we will see. Reading is about all I will be doing fishing wise, the weather outside the window is foul.

Re: Fishing's Strangest Tales
Helen bought me the 2015 reprint of this but seemingly retitled, “Fishing’s Strangest Day’s” - the first 4 stories are certainly the same! It’s a great read that I never tire of but I’d love to know if some of them are true! There are no references in my copy.

Thank you Mark but please do not be upset if I say - no tongues!
I do suspect many are - who could make some of them up!! A questionnaire - Strange but true? Yes or No!
