Typically over-engineered by the upstart when a bit of angled stick or longer one laid over the line would suffice. Come on Jeremy, at least try to be traditional

We changed to paternoster rigs to try and keep the bait away from the blighters....
I positioned it with my forceps to avoid the nettles

Personally, I go for the suitably lairy wrapper of the Schoolboy Biscuit, aka Tunnock's Caramel.
First on the market in 1952, they are plenty traditional enough!!
Been scoffing them since probably 1959.
