Hello all. I've read a number of times In Chris Yates' books that he uses "racing" beans for carp fishing. Does anyone know what these actually are please? Many thanks. Mark

Tic beans, high in protein.
Used to be commonly grown for animal feed.

From memory of years ago, 'racing beans' was another name for "runner beans" ... which can be found in not just green, but a w1de variety of colours ... like these ...

To add to my earlier reply, I should have mentioned that tic beans are often used to feed racing pigeons, hence the 'racing' connection.

Thank you both. I've found the Tic beans on line. Definitely something I'm going to use this year. Thanks for replying. Mark

Tic beans are often used over winter to feed
racing pigeons. When they don't need an
expensive racing mix as they aren't racing.
Harvested with a combine.
