Hardy 'Conquest' 4 inch

There are still bargains to be had on a certain site ... and I had to grab this one !!!
Half an hour removing about 200yards of what looked like 8lb mono ... and enough of a wash to remove a few layers of 'vintage dirt,' but not enough to remove the 'patina' ... moving the line guide for left hand wind ... a light greasing of the ratchet mechanism, and a very light oiling of the spindle ... and I have a reel which spins perfectly with not a sign of a wobble.
The maker's initials on the back plate are 'J.R.J' ... making it the work of Jack Johnson, who worked for the company from 1938 to 1966.
I couldn't be happier.
