Trussler and the Wildies

This was also known, in Walker's time, as "Lackey's Leap", because of the legend that a distraught servant from the big house "offered" himself to the ancient carp, by way of suicide. Isn't in wonderful how such tales seem to attach themselves to carp lakes? The pool was fished by Walker, BB and Peter Thomas and was known for its fine wildies and a gamekeeper called "Trussler".
Drop Me A Line mentions the pool quite extensively.

Transport's always a problem for me, as I don't drive and rely on walking, bikes or public transport; - but in principle I would really enjoy a visit to Hunstrete...

Very 1970s CY or Walkerian. We'll expect the old bike and sound of a rattling Kelly kettle hanging off the handlebars then! :chuckle:
