WA Allcocks Adonis
Yesterday on the Gt Ouse I took my WA Allcocks Adonis cane rod out to play. I didn't use this rod at all last year as I was fishing with my Chapmans 500 for pretty much most of the season. I couldn't of chosen a better time to use it. As dusk settled the Adonis came into action, holding its ground against the barbels shear strength. A powerful and reliable rod particularly for hit and hold situations, making it a very enjoyable rod to use.
A new PB was in the books too.

Outstanding! Well done, Vito.

A fine fish. Well done but you didn't tell us what it weighed!

Wow! Superb fish, well done indeed. I'd love to know what it weighed too!

That's some beefy fish, do you think your 500 would have struggled with this fish.
Thanks

Re: WA Allcocks Adonis
Hi BB, I think I would of struggled myself. I woke up with an arm ache. It was a lengthy fight in such a small area too and she was not giving in at all. The 500 is a superb rod to use, I think if I was careful then yes, but the surges were very powerful from this fish and I think I may of struggled to hold it out of cover. The Adonis is a powerhouse.BoltonBullfinch wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 3:00 pm That's some beefy fish, do you think your 500 would have struggled with this fish.
