Greetings from Norfolk

Just finding my way around this site and seeing what goes on here. I feel like a little bit of an imposter, having only acquired my first split cane rod two days ago (I'll put some pictures on the 'latest purchase' thread soon) but I've been assured that TFF is full of knowledge and advice for newcomers like me. My fishing is not exclusively traditional, but quite a lot of it is, in spirit and in approach, if not always in terms of tackle. Estate lake tench and perch, Broads and lake pike, Wensum roach and chub, wild carp where they are still to be found - these are my favourites. I've become a little more proficient with the centrepin of late, thanks to the generous tuition from one of our Wensum members last winter. Strictly speaking, it's my second foray in the world of centrepins, the first having been with a wooden one at the age of nine, which was several decades ago. I do a little bit of angling writing, which often seems to be well-received, and I'm involved with a crucian conservation project which is going from strength to strength. I'm also in the very early stages of something similar for wild carp, which I hope will be of interest to you all as it progresses. Thank you for reading - I'll look forward to being a member here.

Welcome.
It’s not quite all cane and centrepins - there are some nice old fixed spools as well!
“Traditional” here is an attitude as much as tools and techniques.
Entertaining too; have a root around. I’m sure you will have fun.

Welcome to the TFF, Norfolk Tinca!

I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your "new" rod and reading about the crucians and wild carp.
