After some searching, I’ve at last managed to find myself a 24 inch Efgeeco landing net frame to go with my whole cane handles. The net is long gone but it works just fine. I’m planning on getting a rubberised net to fit it but I noticed 2 small holes on the spreader block, either side of the brass screw thread.

My guess is that these either held split rings or chord to hold the net in place but I can’t make out what it is on any photographs I can see on tinterweb. I’m sure more experienced heads here can tell me. Thanks

I have just had a look at my Efgeeco nets and they have nothing in those little holes on the spreader blocks, I watch this with interest.

Having a 30 something one - so am I.

The two I have had have had a waxed cord through the holes to fix the net in place on the spreader block.

I used to run a cord through one of those holes to tie the top of the net back, otherwise it was liable to slide down, when the frame was folded, into a nasty, wet mess which was prone to tangling when you next wanted the net opened up, or when you tried to get it back into the holdall.

Could it be drainedge holes so no water stays behind after use just a thought mike

Have a look at left hand net in picture by Ljm183 previously put on TFF, click on enlarge and you can se a cord going through the two small holes..
