end of an era

Post by St.John »

Time waits for nothing, and all good thing end. With great sadness I received a call from lea bamford last night telling me that the mighty old oak in the carpark at redmire had succumbed to gravity and age and fallen-luckily into the pool. I for one will miss the old tree- I've spent hours trying to ambush carp as they patrol past in the little nooky hole by it's trunk. Rip old tree-may your successor grow as large as you were.

Such a great shame :(
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

Blimey...I bet that ruffled a few feathers. Wouldn't have wanted to be in the Willow when that came across.

Any chance of some pics Sin?

No, just glad it didn't land on anyone. It's being cleared now, shouldn't take too long (i hope!). Bet it made a hell of a splash!

If I get over today I'll get some pics, but chances are it'll be all finished.

Pictures would be nice Sin.

The Willow would be safe enough (unless, like all things at Redmire, it was a giant over 300 feet tall) but I wouldn't fancy your chances if you were in the Oaks Pitch...

Can we have some of the wood from the fallen tree to make floats out of Sin. :thumb:

Maybe someone could find a corner to lay away a few pieces ... and when it's matured enough turn some commemorative stoppers?
