Watching a joblot of fly rod,s on ebay and one of the rods looked interesting so i emailed the seller asking for some details, the answer was ,

If only from the handle shape and the position of the butt ring I'd say it was a light spinning rod.

Get him to mail you a photo of the writing. That'll tell you what it is and what period it was made in.
