I have been told they are in the water, I've seen some pictures even a video on a phone and this morning I've seen the fish. I caught some nice Tench too.

What is it???? Looks like some kind of sturgeon thing! Did you take it for caviar?

I bet you didn't think you had a tench. Sturgeon/lets? jump and run at daft speeds and take forever to give up. Had a few in France on carp gear and they were quite a handful - great fun

Best lifted out by the tail as they can damage themselves in a net much the same as a hare in a long net. I rather think it may be illegal to put them back once caught but less said the better as not sure of current position. Delightful creatures when they get bigger their constant zooming round the perimeter margin can be immensely annoying as they pick up everyone's lines.
