Hello everybody,
I know that the B.James Blanks are very different. But can someone contrast the rough differences or characteristics of the two rods?
Maybe someone has the direct comparison to a beautiful tight-fitting B.James MKIV Avon and a Scottie "the Avon".

I'm still looking for a nice excellent 10ft Avon sc rod, but I can not decide.

thank you very much

I have and use a Scottie Avon but have never used a cane James Avon so cannot really help. However although very few seem to come on the market, the Scottie Avon is a lovely rod to use, although at 10' perhaps a bit short for most of the very weedy summer swims I fish for chub and barbel.

I wouldn't buy either, instead I'd look for an Olivers Mk5 avon or a Hardy Avon MK4.

I had a late 50's James Avon. I though it very floppy through the middle part of the taper, looked nice though. I still own a Sharpes Avon, it's nice tidy little rod and IIFC a bit faster than the James avon but nowhere near as precise as the Olivers MkV.
