signed red letters book
just received today what is historic book red letter days it has two pen and ink drawings by john searl in it one of bernard venables and on with swim full of barbel and chub and pike it was given to les aves not sure who is could any one en lighten me on here who he is. it also signed by bernard venables chris yates peter stone and many more there isn't many who contributed to the book who didn't sign it it is a wonderfull book that i will treasure

copy and paste the link it gives you [ img xxxxx [/img] after you've browsed for your pic and pressed upload, I've found that if you copy and paste the link starting with [img onto the page and then submit it works.

Les Aves originates from Newbury Park, Essex but due to the regular long journey to fish the Wessex rivers decided to up sticks and move to Fordingbridge he did run a very good B&B for anglers. I stayed with him several times during '94 and had a great time, decent food, accommodation and great conversation.

I only met him a hand full of times. Always spoke, but I didn't know him well. We used to write in one of the David Hall magazines at the same time. That was how he introduced himself to me although I knew who he was. He had been fishing with Mick Brown on the same complex on a pit next door to where I was fishing and made time to come over and introduce himself, which I thought was real nice.
