Southill Park 1200-1530hrs

In between fighting the local swans and duck flotillas coming into the swim, six carp and two roach of about 8oz came to see me:

Only four pics are worth showing as the others were too shakey.

The last pic shows the biggest at 12lb or so.

Packed early as the local birdlife started chasing me up the bank for food and would not take NO for an answer and it was getting very cold and windy!

As ever,......

Moley

Very nice Moley.
What method and bait were you using?

I was using a 4gram waggler, 5lb line and two red maggots on a size 16 hook. :Hat:

The reel was an old Mitchell......I have a love hate relationship with them but still find, after numerous flirtations with other makes, that I come back to them and can't think why I fell out with the reel in the first place

Due to my permanent illness light rods are now the order of the day; the lighter the better.

Now the cold weather is in, the best baits seem to be maggots, particularly reds. I'm not sure why technically reds are better than other colours but trust me after a life time messing about by water, I have found they just are

Carp, roach, tench and perch just can't resist!

As ever,....
