Looks great Nigel, must try it myself some time

I assume the lift in the level failed to turn the barbel on? It's been really, really tough but hopes are high for the autumn. Good to catch up with you and the good lady :Hat:

Dave,

I had a busy day on Monday, bite a chuck until I'd emptied the pool of eels.

A group of three anglers had 4 barbel between them on Sunday at Beat 1.

Thanks for your help, it made a difference :-)

I love that stretch of river. It doesn't have the head of barbel now that there seems to be elsewhere but for varied water and sheer stunning beauty it's hard to better. Thanks for the photos.

Tengisgol,

I like that stretch and the scenery, there are few canoeists and lots of wildlife. Last year an angler had 33 barbel including 3 over 10lb mainly from one pool, in 5 days! The fish are there, I saw a lot rolling and crashing about but they are extremely wary :-)

I really enjoyed your write ups and now the photos. I think that you have finally cracked this barbel fishing lark at last.
Well done SS :fishing1:
