Yes I couldn't get it to work. Don't know what the problem was using the "YouTube" button. I have changed it to "URL" now.

I had the pleasure of fishing the Longford for about 8 years. Regrettably it was not as good as when Tom or Mike managed it as the roach and salmon had almost disappeared. However fishing in such quiet and beautiful surroundings, sometimes not seeing another angler, was enjoyable to say the least, catching barbel, chub, dace, pike, grayling, etc.

I only left because of a price hike to £1000, I found I couldn't justify that for the number of times I fished it each year as an OAP!

And a really great book too, if you can get hold of it.

I agree a fantastic book, I was lucky to find one in an antiques emporium for a tenner a couple of years back.

Can't remember whether it's the book or the film but I love the story about exaggeration, something like this from memory.

One of the Riverkeepers downstream claimed to have caught a five foot eel in his eel trap. In response our man tells him that they had caught an oil lamp in theirs and it was was still alight!

"We agreed that if he took two foot off his eel, I would put out my lamp!"

Was that £1000 per angler, that would be an absolute rediculas some of money, like you say how could they possibly come up with a figure like that

Yes its a grand per angler Stu....the estate don't want coarse anglers.... they want it to be a game syndicate.....better class of angler apparently
