New avons for the year ahead

Post by Match Aerial »

Finished my Avons floats which I intend to use this year weather permitting, made a few to keep me going even if I loose a few.

Yes thought I would try a different colour from the usual brown or black .

At last!! A float maker that puts the shot capacity on..... well done... not to sure about the colour if I'm totally honest but beautifully made :Hat:

Thanks Paul
I always put the shot loading on, I think it makes it a little bit easer on the river bank.

Cheers MA

Great looking floats, the bites always seem so much more positive on wire stem floats.

I agree after all these years I am slowly having to except the wire stem Avon is a better float in my opinion

Thanks Wal

Yes it hit me too a few years ago MA, I copied the original drawings for some Reg Righyni Grayling floats and was very impressed with the bite register and good visibility at long range. A very well designed float for shy biting fish and not too dissimilar in design to yours. :Thumb:
