I saw Edward today and he told me that next April is his 25th anniversary on building rods.
He and Colin are producing 25 special coarse and 25 special fly rods for the occasion.
The coarse rod is a Kennet Perfection made to the original tapers. There are only 4 left to order - price? £2000.

When he told me the price I said that I was expecting it to be 25 hundred pounds given the anniversary which made him smile, so it could have been worse.
They're going like hot cakes so get one quick! :Chuckle:

Mr Barder is unquestionably a master rod builder of international repute . However , I have to ask would one of his rods realistically be worth over £1250 more than an identical specification rod built by our own Andrew J Davies ??. Both are masters of their craft .. Would the Barder catch the angler more / bigger fish ? . Of course not .. Personally I'd buy from Andrew and have enough change for a Lythe centrepin or 2 ......

CWK I could not agree more I have 3 of AJ'S rods and 5 of Mr Baders all are of sublime quality but as you say the difference is the price is substantial and many would question why.
As for the Kennet Perfection I assume Edwards is built on the BJames tapers however personally I think the Ted Oliver taper for his Kennet Perfection is far superior.
Just my thoughts.
