There's at least 4 versions of the Gypsy d'Or. I think this is one of the last ones.

Earlier reels had three threaded screws, not two self tappers, thinner arbour pins, a different spool release and there are several line guard styles.

Thanks for the info Nobby, I'm really a novice at the history of reels, even though I have a fatal fascination for them, so every time some one drops a nugget of information, I lap it up, like a cat with cream, I will eventually pick all your minds clean, and still be as confused as I am today
