He also wrote Along the Way (Medlar - 2002). The text of A Guide to Coarse Fishing and Coarse Fishing (Teach Yourself) are identical as far as I know. I remember a friend of mine getting the paperback of the former in about 1968 and both of us being fascinated by it, we were about 11 and 12 at the time.

Thanks for the missing book DaceAce, I don't know how I missed that one, I have updated the first post.
Looking at the two books you mention the contents page lists the same chapters.

Along the Way is the only one I don't have. I looked at it on a Medlar stand at the Game Fair many years ago and wasn't impressed enough to justify the price. The layout of the two books I mention is different as are the pictures.

What a lovely little book is ‘Come Fishing With Me’!
I picked up a jacket-less copy a while ago and have had it by the bed in recent evenings, dipping in and out a chapter at a time. Peter Stone talks about wanting to write something like Fred J Taylor’s ‘Favourite Swims’ and he certainly achieved a classic.
I particularly enjoyed the chapter ‘The Gravel Pit’ where he describes a season-long campaign after the roach. Really thought-provoking, where he discusses how roach in a clear pit can clear every maggot except yours on a hook (witnessed this at Tom Thumb forty years ago) and also how they sometimes feed only well after dark in the winter. Seen this as well; you could be forgiven to think there are no fish in a pit if you fish regular hours.
Fascinating and highly recommended if you can find a copy.

Everyone likes a bookshelf! Here are some others I picked up in the same bundle as the Peter Stone book - a nice haul!

I think this chap must’ve done, such a tragedy but then I guess it brought the price down for me and they read the same!
