Oh, Lordy, that looks nice! If it's as good as most of their other canes, it should be a bit of a wonder to fish with.

Envious, Moi? Only a little bit...

I wonder if they did a red button, too, for the left-hand rod?

Lovely looking rod Lee as are all Rodrill rods. I have had a few of their rods over the years including a few glass ones and they are all well built and beautifully finished.

Picked up one of these fine rods on the bay about seven years ago for about £50, only needed a whipping replaced and the female ferrule re-seated.
The whipping on my version is in black and silver jasper, not quite as attractive as yours.
Sadly the button is a standard black one.
The unusual feature of this rod model is the use of stand off intermediate rings ( seven ) , something I have not seen on any other cane carp rod. You may be able to make them
out in the pictures.

Meant to compete with the Chapman 500?

The Dipper was aimed a little higher in the market than the Chapman 500. As memory serves the Dipper retailed at £5.19 .6d as against the 500's £3.12.6. You could pick up a
B.James mkIV for £10.10s. (I spent a good few hours in those days ,mid to early sixties
window shopping at my local fishing tackle emporium).
The Dipper is a good deal more powerful than the 500 , with a t.c. of at least a pound and a
half as against the Chapmans one pound.

I presume a competitor for the Chapman 550. Am I the only one that does not like that green button?
