Robbi it's lovely to see a whole collection. Do you use any of your Scouts?

I have a 100, 80 and 60 but the smaller two are not working examples.

However my 100 is nearly immaculate and I took it barbel fishing for the first time on Friday. Unfortunately the planned day-trip was curtailed by a home emergency, but there was enough time to catch my first centre-pin caught barbel of about 5lb. I think the blue reel made for a nice picture....

Could anyone with experience of using those reels tell me
Is there any problem with line twist using this type of reel? and if there is how do you eradicate the problem.

Thanks guys

Side casters are associated with line twist, if you always cast like that with them. With my 8 - 60 I only cast like that infrequently, when ledgering and I want to reach the far bank. Often this is for carp and so casting is perhaps only two or three times a session. Between then I will more than likely cast in a more conventional way.

Morning MA, I use my 8 - 120 all the time for ledgering, I'm not doing big distance casts ( although they can be done very easily with these reels ) and I've had no trouble with line twist as of yet, however I have bought some little tiddly swivels to use if it ever became a problem, not needed to use them yet though.

The 8 - 100 is 4" dia.

As for trotting, I had my 8 - 80 fully refurbished and painted black by SAJ of this forum, it now spins better than my narrow Speedia. :)
