Really nice Harry!
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Super job, I am hoping to buy some brass rod and make some rod rest heads, how easy is it to drill out a hole in brass?

I made mine from 3mm brass, the brass was easy to drill as long as you dot punch them first.I also ended up making a jig for them as it makes keeping them flat easierLoop Erimder wrote:Super job, I am hoping to buy some brass rod and make some rod rest heads, how easy is it to drill out a hole in brass?

Re: Rod Rests
You've made a great job of them HarryH. I was looking for some kind of heads to go onto or into hazel, they'll suit them nicely. Many thanks for sharing them.

Re: Rod Rests
I want to make some of these heads
So all I need is some 18mm diameter brass rods and be able to drill holes in them, I have plenty of these
And I have plenty of cane inserts.
I saw the brass rods on ebay at 300mm lengths. Are they easy to cut into shorter pieces say 20-30mm lengths

The brass is easy to cut but cutting it straight depends on your skill with a hacksaw, mine were turned on a latheLoop Erimder wrote:I want to make some of these heads
