I found a nice book last week, Fine Angling for Coarse Fish - 1930. I bought it because the chapters are organized by species of fish and it has some great black and white photos of old tackle and stuff.
The chapter on roach is 75 pages long, the chapter on carp is only 9 pages !

Stef,
It is from the Lonsdale Library (The Rt Hon The Earl of Lonsdale) and each chapter is written by a different (famous) author including 'Faddist' (roach) and FWK Wallis (Nottingham style casting). The Lonsdale Library series covered all country sports but I've never seen the volume on fishing before. Until recently when I found 2 copies !
There is another on ebay for £10

There is no picture of the 4th stage . . . .where you sit on the bank for 30 minutes untangling the line from around the reel !

I was given my copy in 1943 and still have it, probably my most read book in all the thousands in my library, I can recommend it, as mentioned its chapter on roach is well written.
