Making a rod rack.

Post by MaggotDrowner »

I thought I'd put my "Resistant Materials Design and Technology" GCSE to good use and have a play in the garage. After a few hours I'd created this:

I haven't worked with wood since I left school almost five years ago. I really enjoyed making this but it's amazing how quickly you forget how to do things.

The rack holds six rods. I'll have to make another because I own more than 6 rods.

Perhaps I'll take some pictures as I go next time.

The bottom is mostly dowel joints but I lost patience with it (because I'm out of practice) and the top panel is just screwed together.

Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

Nice racks gents. :Hat:

God never did make a more calm, quiet, innocent recreation than angling.

Nice racks gents, but how do they fit on to the car roof ? :Hahaha:
Not a fish was visible that first time I visited Beechmere; an utter
stillness brooded over the place and I felt the strange and sinister atmosphere which, so the story goes,
has been the cause of several suicides.’
