I'm from Shrewsbury! Thanks for having me!
Good morning,
Many thanks for having me here!
I'm from Shrewsbury, and been fishing for approx. 30 yrs! My fishing style has more or less completed a full cycle. I started down the river with a borrowed old rod! That first perch certainly gets you hooked.
During my late teens I lived and worked at a match fishery in Worcester, where it was more a case of catch as many as you can, not really having any respect for the fish at all!!
Then moving back to Shrewsbury, fishing on the river, but with all the 'modern' stuff!
Now, after a long break, I'm looking to get back. But with the intention of bringing back the 'good old days'. I'm currently in the process of selling my dated modern stuff (only a bit left to shift) before I get back to it!
I only really stumbled upon your forum after I was looking for information on an old Peter Stone Farstrike rod that is also in the process of being sold!! As I thought this was just another rod that needed shifting! Obviously, prior to writing this, I realise I should keep it!
So, many thanks again.
Pete

A hearty welcome, Sir.

Good to have you here
I have laid aside business, and gone a'fishing.

Welcome aboard Pete
Not a fish was visible that first time I visited Beechmere; an utter
stillness brooded over the place and I felt the strange and sinister atmosphere which, so the story goes,
has been the cause of several suicides.’
