This is a photograph of a pike supposedly trying to take a mandarin duck on the Thames! It was taken by a friend of mine from his narrowboat. Later that day he was feeding a pair of mandarin ducks, turned away to see to a boiling kettle, and seconds later heard an enormous splash, looked back at where the ducks were only to find one of them excited and all a quacking swimming round and round looking for its mate! Unfortunatley, it's very hard to make the pike out, but my friend who is not a fisherman, said there was definetly a fish there, and it was "enormous"!
