I can sympathise with that! My favourite local reservoir here in France is 2m higher than usual and it's not possible to bank fish or launch a boat. We've had a week of continuous rain but it's forecast to improve from tomorrow.

Welcome from a local. I have a nice stretch of the Rye at the bottom of my garden....well, it's halfway up the garden at the moment. The Hull water is on the opposite bank.
Eric's Beetle.. a great fly! I have been tying it since I read Eric Horsfall Turner's book many years ago.

Hi
I fish at Nunnington where the old railway bridge is , you live in a lovely part of the world. I am over towards the coast , I agree about the fly I always have some in my box. I have some Erics Beetle tied by the man himself. Sadly they are looking a bit ragged now . They were given to me by a relative who was a friend of the family . I am told I met him once when I was a lad but cant remember ,
