I must admit that I received another, as promised, with no stamps or marks ... and left feedback that, after a small problem, I was happy with the service.

I will donate the one with the printing on to the next TFF auction, should there be one.

My you chaps are quick! Saw this post this morning and was going to tell everyone about the surgical rolls on ebay but went to the River Cam for a couple of hours, came home and it seems everyone has one! I purchased mine about a month ago and it had strange red stains. Rust from scalpels or patients blood?! Still a bit of character is welcome (popped it straight in the wash tho). They do look most handsome when full.

Sorry!! Just noticed dates on the first posts. Still getting the hang of a forum. Apologies.

And here it is with some of my floats.

I can't think why I ever missed this post. I had a dead ringer for the "float roll". They were issued at my school in Camberley, Surrey to A level pupils studying zoology and botany. Scalpels, needles, scissors and forceps where stored in the pockets with a cut-throat razor (for cutting transverse sections of, for example, plant stems) in the side pocket.

Hmm, I have one of those ex-army tool rolls. Mine came with a load of unused Whitworth spanners :) I knew I'd seen those rolls (or something similar) somewhere :)
