I have received 3 bags from Ms. Lawrence ... one in dark blue, one dark green, and one burgundy.

The quality and turn-around time ... well ... all I can say is FANTASTIC.

After reading all the info on these rod bags had 2 made and I can say they are better than the originals and fantastic value for money.

The best bargain anywhere today. Top quality, custom made and very reasonably priced.

I have one on order with more in the pipeline when I can measure up those they are to replace. I've heard so many good things about her work she really is a god-send.

Perhaps we could have a section of the forum for 'suppliers' like Ellen? (Mark Admin team?)

No problem.

I have been getting my rod bags from Ellen for a few years now and can honestly say they are the best available and well worth the wait.
I ask for a slightly longer top flap on mine (6") and three ties as I find this helps the bags fold better.

If you talk to Ellen and explain exactly what you require i am sure she will be able to do it.

As for the Chapmans 500/550 type bags I order them with 3 @ 48" sections 1.5"- 2.5"-2.5" and when they arrive I sew across the middle section at the required distance for the butt. The original Chapmans rod bags were supplied with just two sections and the rod butt simply slid inside with the first cane section.

I do have a picture somewhere of a Chapman bag with a third pocket for the handle, but simply sewn across to hold it up at the top.


I already had a bag done this way and I didn't like it as it put the bulky handle next to the tip section, which I felt was a bad idea as well as making the thing top heavy.

I got Ellen to make me a bag with a third short pocket at the bottom. She said it was too complicated to give me a flap over that short pocket, so instead she put a third tie just above it and tightening that up held the handle safely in its pocket.


Like a fool I sold both rod and bag......
