The ferrule dimensions for both the Mk 4 Carp and Avon rods must be fixed and constant to ensure the blank dimensions give you the correct test curve.

Looking for ferrules? Try John Chapman on 07713057249. If he hasn't got any, I bet he knows a man who has !!!

Thankyou Mick for your advice. I will give him a call.

I'm sure your question will be answered soon (by someone more knowledgeable than I).
Well I hope so, I am thinking I should have produced the greeting firstly followed by the question. Still living and learning. I have just taken a tour of your man cave, and I must say it is impressive. What a selection of stunning pins.

What a twit - I did not say I have now obtained the relevant info, how exacting I will find it to be remains to be seen. I may invest in a super duper micrometer.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

You mention possibly buying a micrometer - I've refurbished only a few rods but I've found my micrometer to be a very worthwhile and essential investment, I'd be lost without it now.

Cheers Mr Pools - any recommendations for micrometers to consider or would you say they are all much of a muchness?
