I used it in about six feet of water as a slider, just to give it a go. It's an elder pith body in the middle but I just overshot it with a couple of AAA on the bottom. It probably warrants a better trial and for roach!

If anyone is interested, PM me, and I will knock up some replicas in the new year to the same dimensions.

But very well presented Vole..real quality. The other dimension to this float is that it could be used fixed in slightly turbulent water assuming depth OK thus giving a variety of options but still applying the lift method without all the waggling around. Given a choice I would probably prefer a peacock though fixed top and bottom. As far as false indications are concerned much can be achieved with hook lengths and buoyant baits such as imitation corn when tight to the shot or extending out with naturals like worms.
