My first attempt at making cane banksticks,not as nice as the items you guys make but homemade so i will get more pleasure using them

Gentlemen I am truly in awe of the craftmanship show in this thread. I would love to be able to produce such stunningly beautiful and functional items. Sadly I can't even knock a nail in straight so I can only dream.

Don't let that stop you! Some of my favourite rods and floats have home-spun whippings as rough as a badger's rear*, but the fish don't notice until they're posing with them on a wet unhooking mat.
* "Artisanal" if they come out reasonably well, "Agricultural" or "Folk" if they're so bad as to be on even my "to do" list.
