You could also try bread and cheese paste or both together, or floating baits, like bread, insects or small lures.

I like freeline with a couple of swan shot.
My preferred baits are lobworms,Halibut pellet,mini boilies with a stringer of 6/8 boilies.

For chub I would use ultra-lite Rapalas and Salmo lures, or a slow retrieve with one of those plastic worms (red metalic oil) on a small jig-head. But because of your mobility, for you I would recommend a big lob or a big lump of cheese or cheese paste.

If I let the bait roll down stream on slow moving water, do i put the shot about 6inches from the hook to keep it down sorry to ask these questions, but I havnt bin fishing long.
