It would appear that Tom Moran worked for Partridge from '81 to '84 but of course thats not to say your rod wasn't a Moran/Garrison taper Troutbeck. I'd certsinly like to know more about the "Partridge" cane rods and their makers. In my own experience their quality varied dramatically from pretty poor to superb!

There was an article about Tom Moran in Flyfishing and Flytying magazine, by the late Peter Lapsley. It doesn't give exact dates but confirms that Tom worked at Partridge for three years.
I had a Partridge made rod from 'The Masters Series' which was 7' 9" and an exact replica of the Garrison 209E taper. The script looked very similar to Tom's rods and it wouldn't surprise me if he was involved in making these rods.
