Very nice them.
I'm in the process of making a bankstick holder out of bamboo, 3 lengths that will be whipped and varnished and fixed in place on a slice of oak which came from a certain fallen oak

Yes, they sell it in the garden section as fencing or for decorative features. I had to sort through a lot of split, cracked, hacked about pieces to find a good one.

Very nice guys. I may have to have a go my self. I have admired these for a while, but they are a touch too expensive for this poor student to even consider! Making one on the other hand will be good fun and so much more rewarding.

What, may I ask, is the bottom made from and where can I find cork that big?

When I made my two float tubes, I cut the culms just below the nodes so there is a bottom already there, the cork stopper was from ebay, just a matter of measuring the hole and then sanding the inside to allow the cork to be pushed in, as I dont have a lathe the cork stopper is the best option
