That's a lovely looking rod, exudes quality.
I do like the separate handle configuration.

Looks very nice indeed!
I think that a 5lb chub would have been a very big fish when these rods were made - in 1983 Trefor West was talking about a big chub at 4lb 14oz in the book "Top Ten"!

Thanks for your nice comments, not sure when I'll get to try it out due to shielding at present.
Oh well back to the next project, I'm sure I'll have gone mad if it were not for them and the garden.

To put your mind at rest Harry I have just finished 172 intermediate whippings on a James MkIV Avon tip section, it took me 5 days on and of. I hope this helps!
Just got to apply a couple of coats of varnish now....
