That's a lovely looking rod, exudes quality.
I do like the separate handle configuration.
It's got to be a keeper surely?

Looks very nice indeed!

I think that a 5lb chub would have been a very big fish when these rods were made - in 1983 Trefor West was talking about a big chub at 4lb 14oz in the book "Top Ten"!

Thanks for your nice comments, not sure when I'll get to try it out due to shielding at present. :hairpull:
Oh well back to the next project, I'm sure I'll have gone mad if it were not for them and the garden.

That's a very kind offer but I've an appointment with a doughnut MK4 with inters at every 3/8" :hairpull: :hairpull: :Brickwall: :Brickwall:
Then again I may go for a easier option

Your a much braver man than me :Scared:

I would just send that naughty MK4 to Wal, to firstly preserve my sanity, and secondly to save my ailing eyesight :Chuckle:

To put your mind at rest Harry I have just finished 172 intermediate whippings on a James MkIV Avon tip section, it took me 5 days on and of. I hope this helps! :surrender:
Just got to apply a couple of coats of varnish now....
Regards John.
