The DP is a two piece and the NL introduced as a budget version but just as good as the difference was only cosmetic. The 700 is a different rod altogether and more common.

I’m a bit confused now.
I thought a 700 was a DP?

The 700 is a Denis Pye. It,s the separate handle version.

The Chapman Dennis Pye 700. 10′ 3 piece Pike rod 1960.

1960 Catalogue description. This rod has the precise action and test curve of a standard Dennis Pye Pike rod but supplied in two 3’ 11” lengths with detachable handle.

The NL above is 3 piece not 2 + butt section.

Therefore there must be 3 versions!
2 sections - as per LMJ
3 sections - as per LMJ 1962 catalogue
and 2 sections + butt - 700 version??

Gets more strange!
