Hi, Just joined the forum. I can tell you that your Sheffield pattern reel is by Smith & Wall 100%. Having studied 1000's of wooden reels in my research into Heaton's you get to know the parts used. The check spring is S&W. Their reels have a slightly more chunky feel t the star back than Heaton or Slater.
