Marc wrote: Tue Mar 21, 2017 9:44 am Very nice indeed. Might I ask where you got the end caps?
The end caps are from my local hardware shop 15mm copper pipe ends. I drilled a 5mm hole in them and fitted a small eyelet.

I drilled the arms 12 mm deep and with the elastic fitted a 12mm metal rod inside . Evefythjng glued with resin based glue and slid the copper caps over.

Looks good. Any chance of a quick sketch for clarification as to how the elastic is attached to the arms underneath the endcaps? TIA

Nice job BSC, I too would like a diagram of the way you fix the rubber in the ends if possible.

Thats a tall tecci order woodmagnet... all I can say is that having found a piece of blackthorn with arms arond 12-14 mm in diameter. I drilled carefully about 12mm deep into each arm.

The black elastic is around 5mm ... in order to strengthen it once its inside the wooden arm I cut a nail around 10mm and placed it into the end of the elastic and glued it.

When dry I glued the ends into the wooden holes in the arms.
When dry I slid over the copper ends and glued them into place.
Then I added the maggot cup.

Hope it helps
