That net looks great and all done in an afternoon! I hope it gets a lot of use.

Nice Sprite, not great for fishing tackle though

Thanks. I built it when I was 15 with my father.

In the summer, if travelling light, I'll usually take the frogeye. Bag and net on the passenger seat, rods poking out of the roof, lovely!

Great job and innovative use of a drain pipe.

The drainpipe with a couple of rags stuffed in the ends worked great with the steam cleaner. However a word of warning if you fancy having a go at it - the drain pipe gets very hot and becomes very soft. Just make sure it's supported along its full length and it's fine.

The spreader block was from a well known 'auction site' a few weeks ago, although it's the first one I've seen in ages. It was only about £30 though.

Now I have one I'm going to take it up to the local fabricators and get a price to make several more. It seems pretty straight forward. I'll post the results in the new year. :Thumb:

Very well done, a brilliant net.
Mine were made by a similar method steamer and drainpipe which like yours distorted.
I then went to a Soil pipe and supported it vertically still warped though.
I really envy craftsman that can build something like your net in an afternoon.
I have just restarted Mk3 and after 4 hours i just have the wooden laminated frame.
I hope yours gets christened quickly.
What were your sizes? width and length.
Very well done Sir
