I spent many a happy hour on childhood holidays peering over the bridge to watch the anglers in the punt.

My nan lives 2min walk from here yet I've never fished it
Maybe this year I'll get myself on there

Great seeing these old posts crop up. Does anyone know who to contact? I might have a go in October if that’s possible.

Technically a game fishery in that season so you need a one-day game licence to fish there then and all game catches should be notified to Davis Tackle. The Pool has a dedicated page on their website as Tengisgol has found. Recommended bait...at least a gallon of maggots! I've always thought you might be able to fish The Royalty on the in-coming tide ;-)

There is a cheap Motel and McDonalds to the East in Sommerton. Now £100 for a ticket!

There used to be a small bakers called Gigi just before the bridge. Many an hour spent eating a cream slice and watching the fishermen on the punt back in the 70's.

Also Paul Whitehouse & Bob Mortimore fished it for Sea Trout in their recent TV series

It doesn't appeal to me, I prefer to fish in a more secluded location away from the public's gaze. I don't like being observed whilst I'm fishing I find it a little off putting.....
