This one is, open to offers

No name on the rod apart from R.Chapman & Co Ware Herts.

It,s a bit like a Dennis Pye 700. Pike rod only it,s a 7ft 11in (look,s like it,s lost an inch or two) 2 piece blank six strip. Test Curve of 3lbs ish.

Would make a great stalking rod for bigger carp in weedier waters.

Done a bit searching the net and found this,

Chapman of Ware The Regent 8’ 2 piece split cane spinning or stalking rod burgundy close whipped bronze ferrule cork handle with sliding screw reel seat rarely seen example in MOB.

Sounds the same apart from the whipping colour

Could it be the one ?

The regent is a six sided blank I thought. The mk9 looks like a mk8 with a foot off the tip and butt. Holding the tip a foot down my mk8 it feels nearer 2lb test than 1 3/4lb test but I can see it being a great stalking rod and 22" handle sounds about perfect too.

A nearly bid on the broken one on eBay but forgot, a new tip from chapmans is about £90 but you won't be disappointed when it's rebuilt :Thumb:

Yes one pictured above is a six sided rod so could it be The regent ?

anyone got a tip section for sale ?

Phone John Chapman. He and Brian made a new top joint for my Mk 8 last year and I THINK (only think) that they may have made more than one.
Long shot, I know, but give it a go and let us know what transpires.

They do tend to make several when they are doing one-offs ( should that be three-offs, then ? ) you'd be surprised what rods they have spare tips for.

The new tip section for the Quinette 8 will have to wait
At £140 all in, is it worth restoring ?

Looks almost identical to The Regent I've just purchased to me: though mine has a lined butt eye, is whipped in burgundy and the tip section is obviously longer.
