Gudgeon on the Fly
Have any of you guys ever caught a gudgeon on a fly. This one was caught by my son for a £5 bet. It took him nearly 2 hours and several patterns to entice the critter from a visible gravel beb we were anchored over. After several takes and one or two perch he nailed one of them. What lenghts some folk go to just to catch a tiddler!

And on a homemade buzzer too if I'm any judge! Nice one. :hat:

Very unusual. Is it possible that it thought the fly was a dead maggot or small worm?

I can see a new craze starting in the summer - gudgeon fly matches. Great fun I expect.

..... a bloodworm probably, by the looks of that fly.
Very "nifty" bit of angling, I must say ..... well done!

You had to be there MD. It was a real pain watching him with his steely determination to catch a gudgeon on a fly.
