Like others, I too used a Snowbee net, but I've taken it off now. I found the large 'weave', for want of a better word, whilst looking the part, seemed not to provide the fish care I wanted.
I've replaced it with the net from an Abu Garcia Specialist net, simply because I like them and they are a doddle to dismantle without ruining the frame.
You simply pop off the Abu badges, drive out the pins and the whole lot comes to pieces in a trice:

They come in 60,70 and 80 cm sizes, which equates to 24",28" and 32".
They are green, though...perhaps I'll dye it black?

Has anyone ever made a folding landing net?

Re: Nets
Yes, I made a couple, years ago. They had had arms each made from two strips of cane, like the Walker net, but curved. These were hinged together with a strip of leather, held in place with cord whippings, and the seperate spreader block was hardwood, with a bolt through it to attach to the handle. The leather hinge had a hole through for the bolt. One had 30 inch arms, the other twenty four inch. I gave them away, but after seeing some of the old nets on her I am planning to make another.JimmyBobkin wrote:Has anyone ever made a folding landing net?

Yes, I've done one from a 'folding arms' game type net. The front of the triangular net is tensioned with a strip of leather that goes from arm tip to arm tip.
Dinsmores list the net, an hexagonal holed job that is very, very soft indeed. But I had to get it ordered, nobody carried them in stock.

Re: Nets
If you do make another, Alan, I would be very interested in seeing the progress, if possible?
