Fishing a dropper whilst trotting
A few lads across the hall and on this site have sent me emails & PM's inquiring about using a dropper whilst trotting for grayling so the start of a topic across the hall kicked my backside back into gear & got me back to writing the already started article I had halted on so I hope this insight into using a dropper whilst trotting will give you a small insight into it, this shows the way I was shown 40 years ago.

Thanks very much George - when I get back to fishing and fishing-related activities (Mrs GP is still recovering and so that takes all my 'spare' time at the moment) I'll tie up a few of those and give the technique a go when I'm after grayling.

Interesting indeed,Have you ever tried 2 flies and no bait whilst trotting?I realise you would normally just fly fish if not using bait but wondered if you switched to 2 flies on days when they are not taking the maggot. John

Re: Fishing a dropper whilst trotting
I often fish artificial flies instead of any bait there are times when it is beneficial rather than fish with a fly rod, more often or not I start with fly fishing then later on in the day swap to a float.

interesting stuff. I have just discovered your Grayling Blog George387. Love the floats and Grayling are one of my favourite fish. I wish there were a few more around my area. Regards ExeAngler, (pearcey 150)
