Vintage or old tins used for fishing tackle

Post by Bernie74 »

Ive been trawling EBay looking for vintage tins or old tins to build up my collection package of vintage fishing tackle.
Is there anywhere in particular where i can find a few, they will be used to carry, spare end tackle ie line, weights, hook packets etc etc.
Also im after a few short and long quill floats to add to my collection in a wooden float box, is there anywhere in particular to look for them also.

Await the Arrival of the BJMason "Oxo tin kid" :chuckle:
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

About two years ago I was fortunate enough to buy a large box, containing 40 odd mint, pre 70`s Golden Virginia tobacco tins off fleabay. Very useful, partition the tin off, great shot/tackle holder. I still wonder how long it took the chap or chapette to smoke his/her baccy....

What a lovely collection of tins! I've just bought a 1953 Coronation Oxo tin from eBay to hold some of my bits and pieces, more because that was my year of birth than because of any sudden interest in collecting Royal memorobilia.
