Measurements are 16mm x 24mm and has channels top and bottom with chenille in them

Re: Help with spool ID
I would say a closed face reel - which one ?? - not sure it is an ABU one though.

Re: Help with spool ID
It may be an after market spool for an ABU 500 series reel. I've just measured a 500 series spool, top width is 53mm, spool depth is 16mm, hole diameter is 12mm and centre to centre distance on the mounting studs (brass in the case of your spool) is approx. 27mm. Hope this helps.
What do they know of fishing who know only one fish and one way to fish for him?

Re: Help with spool ID
I haven't had much experience with this type of reel but
I sold a 505 recently and that had Made in Sweden on both spools.

ABU 5 series and Daiwa are the two old versions usually used - - although there are other makers!
