STRIKE BOBBINS. (Late 70's early 80's?).
Hello Everyone
Has anybody used these (STRIKE BOBBIN) before during their fishing life. I know they come apart so you can weight them with split shot accordingly.
I'm trying to see if there are any images of them being used bankside. I should imagine the are possibly late 1970's early 80's, correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank you for any help.

Re: STRIKE BOBBINS
If my memory serves me right, I had a couple of Luminous ones, very similar to those in the photo.
Late seventies / early eighties, is a good shout.

I have a red one. Just make sure you tie the bottom eye to something or you will lose it on the strike!

Re: STRIKE BOBBINS
Yes, I remember using one of them, in the past.
Very simple and worked okay.
I only fish very occasionally for Carp, so I didn't use them often, but I did like the way that they could be fine tuned, with the addition or subtraction of shot.
I've not thought about them for years, but it's just possible that I might still have one in my old fishing tackle junk box.
The next time that I build up the courage to go in there, I will have a look..

Good lord they take me back... They were my first set of true bobbins after the hubcap & penny, then the tube of silver paper on the knitting needle... I had the luminous ones, I filled them with plasticine for weight... They were very effective
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home

I have a few, including a luminous one.
